​1984 4x4 Toyota Pickup w/ 1976 Toyota Chinook

The build was an amazing adventure all on its own. 3 weeks, minimal tools, a lot of podcasts, multiple late nights, a few mistakes, a lot of hard work and alcohol.. and The Honeymooner was born. The ultimate memory maker.

ENGINE & CHASSIS

  • 1984 4x4 Toyota Pickup w/ long bed
  • 4 cylinder 22R motor
  • 5 speed manual transmission
  • 204,000 original miles
  • Custom rear bumper with bike rack for 2 bikes
  • 20” light bar
  • Brush guard winch mount with 8000 lb winch
  • BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires with 10,000 miles
  • Spare tire wheel and tire
  • Front Axle (straight axle):
    • Factory 4:10 gearing
    • Added a leaf and had all leafs re-arched
  • Rear Axle: Has been swapped out for a V6 axle (4:10 gearing) from a 1988 Toyota Pickup, 3” wider, with thicker axle housing and beefier brakes.
    • Added Ride Right air bags and 4 new shocks.

CAB

  • Crack on dash and small tear in driver seat
  • New windshield with professional installation
  • CD player with USB plug
  • Additional speakers added behind passenger seat
  • Rubber all season floor mats
  • Factory original manual, jack and tool roll
  • Functioning A/C ​

CAMPER: All new, completely gutted and remodeled.

  • Walls: insulated with 2” foam board all around and covered with sheets of FRP
  • Floor: Vinyl wood flooring
  • New seal between cab and camper
  • Pop up vinyl: Original
    • Deep cleaned
    • Windows have been professionally repaired
    • Tear in rear corner we repaired ourselves
  • 2 burner propane cooktop
  • New 5 lbs propane tank and regulator
  • Water system: 7 gallon water tank with 12v diaphragm pump
  • Stainless steel sink with new faucet
  • Dometic CFX-50W 49 quart Refrigerator/ Freezer (12/24 Volts DC and 120 Volts AC)
  • Custom cabinetry finished with aluminum trim
  • Couch/Bed:
    • Easily slides from couch mode to bed mode
    • 4” memory foam cushions with removable covers for easy washing
  • Plenty of under bed storage that works well with standard milk crates
  • Storage boxes secured with bungee cord above the cab
  • IKEA slide out storage, secured with bungee cords
  • Maxxair roof top fan/vent (12 volt)
  • 1 cubic foot Sentry Safe bolted down under the sink
  • Electronic system: 100% all new wiring
    • 100 Watt Solar with Charge controller
    • Deep cycle battery
    • 800 watt DC/AC inverter
    • Blue sea fuse block
    • Voltage read out
  • Plugs:
    • (2) 12 volt outlets
    • (2) USB outlets
    • (2) 120 volt plugs  
  • (4) interior LED lights
  • Exterior LED flood lights
  • Replaced all old exterior panels with diamond plating
  • All camper windows were removed, cleaned and re-caulked ​
